Wellington Day 41
Stairway to Heaven
The 'man from the council' came today to install the hand rail. After deciding it was a cavity wall the installation operative decided that he needed to go and get special fittings. Returning 40 Min's later he fitted a support rail with uprights screwed to the steps rather than on the wall.
It seemed alright at the time but on reflection it is a little ugly. It does not match the other supports on the opposite side as they are square and stained mahogany and the new one has white supports with a pale pine round rail. Will try staining it all one colour and see it it blends any better. However it will serve the purpose and I am sure that after a few months Margaret will not need it and it can be easily dismantled and sent back.
Margaret was pleased with the news and confirmed that all the therapists were geared up for her release now and would be doing their final reports on Thursday. Hopefully Margaret will remember to get Lisa M the SLT Therapist to call me tomorrow to discuss ongoing treatment.
